
When advertising a business, there’s a temptation to put every skill you have in the copy. E.g. you do kitchens, bathrooms, electrics, plumbing, tiling, flooring, extensions etc.
Obviously the reason an advertiser would do this is to pick up business from all those categories. However it makes you look like a jack-of-all-trades, and it undermines your message to the potential customer.
If your ad was next to another business’s which said something like “We only do bathrooms, we are the experts in this, we’ve done hundreds of them”…which one would you feel more confident calling for a bathroom makeover?
