Among the very many Freemason’s Lodges represented from the South West Area, was the Vale of Avon 4859, a Lodge that has had its roots firmly embedded in Fordingbridge since 1926. Originally meeting at various rooms in the town including the Fordingbridge Town Hall, LLoyds Bank chambers and laterly the old Ashburn Hotel.  The Vale of Avon is now based for convenience with other Lodges in the area, at the Ringwood Masonic Unity Hall.
Cheques for £750 each from and on behalf of the Brethren of the Vale of Avon, were presented by the current Worshipful Master W Bro Paul Sumner and Brother Andrew Mooney, to ambassadors Sarah Agnew for Julia’s House and Helen Talbot for Naomi House & Jacks Space. A further £500 was donated by the Lodge to the British Heart Foundation, who were unfortunately unable to attend the evening.
It was an excellent evening and a fasttrack education into the level of selfless dedication and service provided by the countless charities and their teams in Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire, along with the deep level of community involvement and support given by the many Freemason’s Lodges in this South West area.
