Café opening at New Forest Heritage Centre

by | May 10, 2021 | Community News

On Monday 17th May the New Forest Heritage Centre opens its doors to its brand new café. Many items on the menu are locally sourced making the café the ideal place to sample New Forest and Hampshire produce.

Claire Lee, Operations Manager for the New Forest Marque, said “The café’s menu features a wonderful selection of New Forest Marque produce. It’s fantastic to see the New Forest Marque network working in this way and giving visitors and residents the chance to savour local flavours and to support local producers.”

Previously run by Tip, Leaf and Bean, the New Forest Heritage Centre Café will now be managed in house and there are many new additions to the menu. Hot food is available alongside cold snacks, a wide range of tea, freshly ground coffee, cream teas and a selection of scones and cakes. A large range of gluten-free and vegan options is also available.

For the first time, guests will be able to choose between outdoor or indoor seating. The café’s interior has been expanded and redecorated with posters and items from the museum’s collection. The café is operating both table service and takeaway. It remains dog-friendly and dogs on leads are welcome both inside and out.

The Centre’s free, fun and interactive museum will also be fully open for the first time this year on 17th May.
