With the relaxation of many Covid rules, Ringwood Art Society is thrilled to be back holding live demos and workshops. However, they are still observing caution as we’re certainly not out of the woods yet! So, this means using the excellent ventilation facilities at Greyfriars of open doors, air conditioning and spacious rooms in which to retain social distancing. Recently they were delighted to have a demonstration by Angela Corben – a still life with flowers in a loose style using acrylics. This will be followed up with a workshop in September.
Throughout the spring and summer months, the plein air sessions (free to members) have been going ahead and are now led by professional artist Lindsey Cole. This has been a great chance for members to get together on Wednesdays (in good weather!) and paint together. Places visited have been along the coast and many beauty spots in the forest.
The annual exhibition was cancelled last year due to the whole country Lockdown, but the society is geared up to opening the doors at Greyfriars for 2021 for a fortnight in August (14th – 30th) Member artists have been busy over the past couple of years producing a fabulous new selection of work – paintings, ceramics and cards and they look forward to welcoming everyone, again in the well-ventilated rooms at Greyfriars, observing social distancing. Raffle tickets will also be on sale with superb prizes – a ceramic work by Suzette Knight, framed paintings from Lindsey Cole and Angela Corben and a £30 voucher for Lunns Art Store.
If you are thinking of re-igniting that past hobby or fancy taking up a new interest in painting or ceramics, just drop an email to the society: firstname.lastname@example.org or pop along to the exhibition and have a chat.
