Artsreach and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra resume their ever-popular collaboration of recitals in rural communities with a series of ‘BSO On Your Doorstep’ concerts this spring, featuring two performances by BSO Resound, and a BSO Chamber Ensemble performance in Alderholt.

‘BSO On Your Doorstep’, an initiative made possible thanks to support from the Weston Culture Fund, has seen a selection of BSO musicians playing in brand new ensembles as this internationally renowned orchestra returns to the road. A partnership with Artsreach has allowed the orchestra to reconnect with audiences across Dorset and bring live music directly to local rural communities.

As part of the Artsreach spring season, a BSO chamber ensemble invites you to join them for a celebration of the sea in Alderholt. From the Hebrides to Padstow features players from across the orchestra performing a repertoire spanning everything from Handel, Williams and Mendelsohn to the Beatles and Adele. Audiences of all ages can expect to be guided on a nautical musical journey in this special matinee performance, taking place during the half term holiday and presented by a BSO Associate Musician.

Artsreach Co-Director Kerry Bartlett said, “We are thrilled to offer both adults and families and children living in and around Alderholt the opportunity to hear some of these incredible musicians performing live with this special matinee recital of their popular nautical programme.

Artsreach is supported this season by Dorset Council, Arts Council England and Blanchards Bailey solicitors. Hear BSO On Your Doorstep in Alderholt Village Hall on Saturday 26 February at 2:30pm.
